This ring design is inspired by the arched pattern found on the front doors of the Sacramento, California Temple. The entire temple has a pattern of tall archways, including the curved arcades representing an "open armed" welcoming entrance. Arches often symbolize unity, strength, and support. Temple doors are often a beautiful focal point of each temple, are reminiscent of the "gate of heaven" spoken of by Jacob when talking about the house of God (Genesis 28:17), and signify an entryway into heaven. Together, they are a powerful reminder of the eternal nature of temples.
